Choose From Your Couch
Sometimes it helps to think in furniture, not square feet.
Climate Controlled vs. Standard: Which Do You Need?
Climate controlled units maintain a consistent temperature and humidity level year-round. They cost a bit more, but they're worth it for certain types of belongings.
Choose climate controlled for:
- Wood furniture (warps and cracks with temperature changes)
- Electronics and appliances
- Documents, photos, and important papers
- Clothing and fabric items
- Musical instruments
- Artwork, antiques, and collectibles
- Wine and other temperature-sensitive items
Standard is fine for:
- Metal tools and equipment
- Outdoor and patio furniture
- Vehicles and recreational equipment
- Most sporting goods
- Hardier household items
